Nacpan Beach, El Nido: how to get there and what it costs

Checked Oct 2026. Updated . Compiled from the sources listed at the end of this page.

Nacpan Beach is on El Nido's north coast, 20.5 km by road from El Nido Municipal Hall on an OpenStreetMap route we measured, and the hotels on the beach put the drive at 40 to 45 minutes. Shared air-conditioned shuttles cost PHP 350 to 400 one way and PHP 600 to 700 return per person on the sellers' own pages (checked Oct 19, 2026), and a private van from town is PHP 2,500 each way for up to four people.

How this page is built: we compile operator timetables, government notices and booking-platform listings, plus one road measurement on OpenStreetMap. Nothing here is first-hand, and we do not rank hotels or beaches. Fares and timetables are as each seller published them on Oct 19, 2026.

Figures marked "reported by" come from secondary guides; confirm fares and return times with the seller before you go, and judge the sea on the day.

Shuttle times and fares by seller

Three sellers publish a Nacpan shuttle with a fixed fare per person. Each timetable below is copied from the seller's own page on Oct 19, 2026.

Seller El Nido to Nacpan Nacpan to El Nido One way / return Where it starts Source, checked Oct 2026

El Nido Paradise (booking agent) Pickup time picked at booking Return time picked at booking PHP 350 / PHP 600 Your hotel in El Nido or Corong-Corong town proper El Nido Paradise booking pages

Discover El Nido and El Nido Paradise both say the return fare is for a same-day trip only, so a night at the beach means two one-way tickets. El Nido Paradise takes a deposit online (PHP 150 one way, PHP 200 return) and the rest in cash at pickup, and its page says a missed return seat is forfeited. Discover El Nido drops passengers at the shuttle terminal in the Sunmai Bar parking area.

The beach's hotel group sells the same ride at a different price on paper. Nacpan Beach Resort's and Nacpan Beach Villas' location pages show PHP 400 one way and PHP 700 return as a guest rate, next to a struck-through "regular price" of PHP 450 and PHP 800. Nacpan Beach Shuttle Service lists Nacpan Beach Glamping and H Hotel Group in its footer, and the three beach properties each say they are under P4P Nacpan Holdings Corp.

Nacpan Beach Shuttle Service also runs to Duli Beach, further up the coast: 9:30 am, 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm out, 11:00 am, 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm back, at PHP 400 one way or PHP 800 return.

Beach Bus. The hop-on hop-off Beach Bus Palawan lists Nacpan as a stop. On Oct 19, 2026 its website showed only a maintenance notice saying online booking is paused. El Nido Bible reported pass prices of PHP 700 for one day, PHP 1,800 for three days and PHP 2,500 for five on Sep 25, 2026, already marked temporarily unavailable. Until the operator's own site sells passes again, we would not plan a day around it.

Private van, tricycle or scooter

Private van. Nacpan Beach Glamping and Nacpan Beach Resort publish the same private van rates: PHP 2,500 per way for 1 to 4 people and PHP 3,000 for 5 to 8 between El Nido town and Nacpan, or PHP 2,000 and PHP 2,800 from El Nido Airport. The Glamping page adds that the shared shuttle cannot collect guests at the airport. For four people, a private return from town (PHP 5,000) costs roughly double four shuttle returns (PHP 2,400 to 2,800).

Tricycle. All three beach properties advise against a tricycle because some sections of the road are unpaved and uncomfortable, especially in the rainy season, and Discover El Nido's shuttle page says the same. All of them sell the alternative. We could not find El Nido's tricycle fare matrix in a form we could read, so there is no official Nacpan fare here. Mad Monkey reports PHP 250 to 350 one way (Jul 2026), and El Nido Tours reports about PHP 600 to 800 for a round trip (Jul 2026). Agree the price and the waiting time before you leave town.

Scooter. Mad Monkey reports scooter rental in El Nido at about PHP 500 to 700 a day, fuel extra, and warns that the last stretch of road turns unpaved and sandy.

How far it really is. Published distances run from about 17 km (El Nido Tours and Mad Monkey) to 22 km (all three beach properties). Our OpenStreetMap car route from El Nido Municipal Hall to the coordinates Nacpan Beach Glamping publishes for itself came to 20.5 km, and El Nido Bible's own OpenStreetMap routing to the van drop point gave 20.4 km. From El Nido Airport the same method gives 16.3 km. The "half an hour" figure on the hotel pages is the drive from the airport, not from town.

Fees: what is published and what is not

We found no official, published entrance fee for Nacpan Beach. The El Nido municipal website answered our requests on Oct 19, 2026 with a bot challenge, so we could not search it. The secondary reports disagree:

  • Mad Monkey, which runs a hostel on the beach, says there is no standard entrance fee, but anyone arriving by motorbike or private vehicle may pay a parking fee that varies by vehicle (Jul 31, 2026).
  • El Nido Bible reports a checkpoint on the approach road where a fee is collected, with no officially published amount, and cites one 2022 tour page that lists a PHP 100 environmental fee (Aug 26, 2026).

The El Nido Eco-Tourism Development Fee (ETDF) is a separate, municipal fee: PHP 400 for visitors arriving from outside Palawan (El Nido Paradise), a rate El Nido Map attributes to Municipal Ordinance 01, Series of 2024. El Nido Map, checked Oct 17, 2026, says the fee comes with a tourist stay and applies whether or not you join a boat tour; El Nido Bible says it is collected when you book an island hopping tour, not when you walk onto a mainland beach. The full rate table is on Palawan fees.

Bring cash from town. Nacpan Beach Glamping's FAQ says it does not take card payments, Travel Palawan says there are no ATMs at Nacpan, and Mad Monkey says the one ATM near Sunmai Bar and Restaurant can run out of cash.

Can you swim at Nacpan Beach?

People do swim there, but nobody we found publishes a lifeguard service. None of the hotel, glamping, villa or shuttle pages we read on Oct 19, 2026 mention lifeguards. The UK government's Philippines travel advice (updated Jul 15, 2026) says swimming and surfing beaches "are unlikely to have lifeguards or warning signs, so get advice from your hotel or local residents before starting any activities."

What the beach's own businesses say about the water:

  • Nacpan Beach Glamping's FAQ says that from February to May "the beach is beautiful and water is calm", and that in the rainy season "the sea can be a little rough".
  • Mad Monkey's safety note says currents around the point between Nacpan and Calitang "can run stronger than they appear from shore".

PAGASA's dry season runs December to May, and its rainy season June to November. Month-by-month rain for the Palawan weather stations is on Best time to visit Palawan, and sea travel rules and advisories are on Is Palawan safe?.

Staying overnight at Nacpan

Three properties on the beach belong to P4P Nacpan Holdings Corp. Nacpan Beach Villas says the shuttle drops guests beside Sunmai Bar and Restaurant, meters from its entrance:

Property What its own site says Source, checked Oct 2026
Nacpan Beach Resort Rooms 30 meters from the beach, with fridge, air-conditioning and hot showers; guests use the pool at Nacpan Beach Glamping Nacpan Beach Resort home page
Nacpan Beach Glamping Canvas tents with two queen beds, for two people each; air-conditioning at night only in the dry season (rooms page), switched off from 10 am to 4 pm (FAQ); a 50% PayPal deposit, no card payments Nacpan Beach Glamping rooms page and FAQ
Nacpan Beach Villas Villas about 40 minutes (22 km) north of town Nacpan Beach Villas home page

El Nido Insights, an affiliate site, reports 2026 rates of about PHP 5,000 to 17,000 a night for the glamping tents, PHP 5,000 to 17,500 at the resort and PHP 9,000 to 25,000 at the villas (updated Oct 4, 2026), and says the glamping bathrooms are shared and outdoors. El Nido Tours reports a wider peak-season band of PHP 2,500 to 8,000 for the Nacpan area. Other places on the beach include a Mad Monkey hostel and ANGKLA Beach Club and Boutique Resort, as named by Mad Monkey and Travel Palawan.

Nacpan Beach Glamping's FAQ also says it runs a privately funded sea turtle hatchery on the beach and has released over 10,000 hatchlings. The resort lists seasonal turtle releases among its activities.

Island hopping boats leave from the El Nido town area, so every tour day from a Nacpan base adds the road twice. Areas and listed prices across El Nido are compared on Where to stay in El Nido, and tour routes on El Nido island hopping tours.

Nacpan Beach or Lio Beach?

We do not rank beaches. The two differ mostly in distance and development:

Nacpan Beach Lio Beach Source, checked Oct 2026
Distance from town 20.5 km by road; 40 to 45 minutes About 4 km north, next to El Nido Airport OpenStreetMap route; hotel pages; reported by El Nido Tours
Usual way there Shared shuttle, PHP 350 to 400 one way Tricycle, PHP 100 to 150 each way Shuttle sellers; reported by El Nido Tours
Who runs the stays Three properties under one company (P4P Nacpan Holdings Corp.), plus a Mad Monkey hostel and ANGKLA Beach Club Lio, a 322-hectare master-planned coastal estate by Ayala Land Property pages; Mad Monkey; Travel Palawan; Ayala Land
Reported peak price band PHP 2,500 to 8,000 a night PHP 4,000 to 25,000+ a night Reported by El Nido Tours

Which one suits a trip depends mostly on how many boat days are planned, since both sit away from the town pier. Getting to El Nido in the first place, by van from Puerto Princesa or by air into Lio, is covered on Puerto Princesa to El Nido and Palawan airports.

FAQs

Can you swim at Nacpan Beach?

Yes, people swim there, but no lifeguard service is published on the beach's hotel or shuttle pages, and the UK government says Philippine beaches are unlikely to have lifeguards or warning signs. Nacpan Beach Glamping describes the water as calm from February to May and a little rough in the rainy season. Ask at your hotel or the bars by the shuttle stop before going in.

Why is Nacpan Beach famous?

Mad Monkey calls it one of the few major El Nido beaches you can visit without booking a boat, since it is reached by road. Mad Monkey and Travel Palawan describe about 4 km of sand, joined to Calitang Beach as the "Twin Beaches", and Mad Monkey notes that it faces west, toward the sunset.

How do you get to Nacpan Beach from El Nido town?

Most visitors take a shared shuttle van: PHP 400 one way or PHP 700 return with Nacpan Beach Shuttle Service or Discover El Nido, or PHP 350 and PHP 600 with hotel pickup through El Nido Paradise (checked Oct 19, 2026). A private van is PHP 2,500 each way for up to four people. The road is 20.5 km on our OpenStreetMap route, and the hotels put the drive at 40 to 45 minutes.

Is there an entrance fee at Nacpan Beach?

We found no official, published amount. Mad Monkey reports no standard entrance fee but a possible parking fee, and El Nido Bible reports a fee collected at a checkpoint on the approach road. The separate El Nido eco fee (ETDF) is PHP 400 for visitors arriving from outside Palawan.

Is Nacpan Beach better than Lio Beach?

We do not rank them. Lio is about 4 km from town, next to the airport, inside Ayala Land's 322-hectare Lio estate; Nacpan is 20.5 km by road, with three properties of one company, a hostel and a beach club resort. El Nido Tours reports a lower peak price band at Nacpan (PHP 2,500 to 8,000) than at Lio (PHP 4,000 to 25,000+).

Which part of El Nido is best to stay?

It depends on the plan. El Nido Town is next to the island hopping pier and Corong-Corong is a short tricycle ride from it, while Lio and Nacpan are beach areas further north, as reported by El Nido Tours. The areas are compared with dated prices on Where to stay in El Nido.
